Abstract

Key Points• Most diseases are characterised by a complex interplay of multiple factors, which is the focus of the new systems medicine approach.• Most disease definitions are 18th/19th century and organ- or symptom-basedand may mechanistically combine entirely different phenotypes• A necessary step is the identification of barriers and challenges of multiscalesystems medicine through a collective effort.• We here present four questionnaires through which we aim at gatheringfeedbacks from the community.
