Abstract

Channelling: Outset Studiomakers Corridor at Frieze London 2023 was a commissioned group exhibition presented at Frieze London, responding to the spatial and conceptual conditions of the fair’s entrance corridor. The project explored materiality, liminality and process through painting and interdisciplinary practices within contemporary art.

Robinson’s contribution comprised three works: Hopscotch (2023), Python’s Fruit Basket (2023), and Skimmer (2023). The works extended Robinson’s engagement with painting as a materially constructed object, foregrounding surface, assemblage and objecthood.

Presented within the entrance corridor of Frieze London as part of Channelling: Outset Studiomakers Corridor, the works were encountered through circulation and proximity, emphasising painting as an object experienced through material presence..
