Abstract

This briefing paper provides an overview of the February 2018 CEDAW Optional Protocol Inquiry Report which found a number of grave and systematic violations of CEDAW rights regarding the current legal position on abortion in Northern Ireland. The paper also provides analysis of the UK Government’s response, and outlines a number of recommendations going forwards.
