Abstract
Buxton, James (d. 1766), Whiteboy captain, came from Tubbrid or Killcoran, near Clogheen, Co. Tipperary. Little is known of his birth or parentage, although contemporary accounts suggested that he was a wealthy grazier worth £300 or £400 a year.
