Abstract

Border Crossing was selected by an international jury for the 2017 Miniartextil - Borderline exhibition organised by Arte&ArteVenue 1 - Como, Italy.
Exhibited at the former church San Fransesco, in Como, Italy and travelling to 3 further venues. Border Crossing was made in response to recent news footage of migration and the journeys made by hundreds of thousands of people searching for a safe route across European borders. The piece depicts this passage in gold threads against a dark background and is constructed by creating thousands of individual blocks of stitch.
