Abstract
This article is a commissioned piece for volume V of a publication series accompanying the International Building Exhibition in Hamburg. The volume has the theme Metropolis: Cosmopolis and investigates it through sections entitled Cities and Society, Urbanity through Diversity, Opportunities Instead of Problems, and Projects of the IBA Hamburg. All articles are in English and German. This article looks at the particularity of Belfast's history of conflict and the challenges it presents for urban regeneration.
