Abstract
Adoption of Industry 4.0 is the most important development in generating economic growth of a country. The success of economies relies upon the timely adoption of Industry 4.0 and proactively facing the challenges that are associated with it. This revolution has brought many benefits to industries across the globe specially to manufacturing sector which is considered as backbone of any economy. However, there are barriers such as availability of workforce, infrastructure and management that are of the major concerns for organizations. This paper offers a systematic literature review of 38 studies on Industry 4.0 barriers from 2011 to 2019. These barriers can be used strategically to create awareness among stakeholders and embark upon Industry 4.0 concepts.
