Abstract

All the Rituals of Existence (in six parts) is a series of 6 typed texts, presented framed. Each text represents a segment of dialogue taken from German filmmaker Edgar Reitz's 1992 film series, 'Heimat'. These isolated excerpts selected for these text pieces, act as an indirect discussion or reflection on the themes and artistic processes within my practice, such as image making through the lens of photography, spectacle and performance in everyday human interaction and connection, and emotional states such as disappointment, failure, love and loss.
