Abstract

This book draws together the results of the two-year Creative Europe project, A Woman's Work. It includes The Second Shift which was exhibited at Kaunas Photography Gallery's The Muse of the Greenshouse and in the two-person exhibition A Woman's Work at Photo Museum Ireland. The Second Shift formed part of this urgent reflection on women's roles in society, and represented a challenge to accepted notions of 'women's work' and the role of the mother. These new juxtapositions provide exciting and innovative ways of understanding and representing women in contemporary Europe.
