Abstract

This project investigated the use of available in-house technology to create an open digital resource to support academic staff in helping students develop the necessary skills to succeed at university and beyond.

Working in partnership with professional support staff, a practical toolkit was developed to support academic staff in effectively embedding essential academic, well-being, and employability skills in the curriculum, with the aim of enhancing the student experience and enriching the quality of business education.

The importance of embedding skills in the curriculum is widely acknowledged (HEA, 2016) and supported by Ulster’s Integrated Curriculum Design Framework which highlights the need for a holistic and innovative curriculum for learners (Ulster University, 2021). It is acknowledged that shared open resources offer many benefits to educators (University of Edinburgh, 2016). Although academics regularly collaborate in research, the practice of sharing teaching resources happens less frequently
