Abstract

In 2009-2010 I collaborated with Professor An Bin, China Academy of Art, Hanazhou China, to examine sustainability teaching and learning practices in art & design at our respective institutions. Students in both institutions worked on common themes around sustainability and the resulting works were featured in an exhibition in China and book publication (October 2010). In addition to this I reported on the variety of approaches to teaching sustainable practices used across the School of Art & Design at all levels; foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate. These findings were discussed at the 2010 October Teaching & Learning Conference, China Academy of the Arts.
