Description
This project (Double blind Randomized control clinical trial on human volunteers) will assess the impact of vestibular stimulation on HbA1c:
The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of non-invasive electrical vestibular nerve stimulation (VeNS), together with a lifestyle modification program, as a method of reducing HbA1c, as compared to a sham control.
Endpoint classification: Efficacy Study
(Researcher 2 at 100% for 14 month contract)
Approx. 50 participants will be randomized into either a Sham or Active group and will remain on intervention for 24 weeks.
Appointments will be held within within HISU (baseline, 12 and 24 week) and will involve a range of measures including anthropometry, biochemical analyses, questionnaires and adverse event reporting.
