Project Details
Description
UU in collaboration with AFBI will be focusing on two main tasks: (1) measurement of extracellular enzyme activities that regulate the cycling of carbon in soils. Enzymes such as cellulases and ligninases are among the most important carbon-degrading enzymes targeting the degradation of soil organic matter with different qualities; (2) use of scanning environmental microscopy (SEM) to produce micrographs that can help understanding the biogeochemical composition of soil organo-mineral fractions.
