Project Details
Description
The seed funding will facilitate a travel grant for Professor Maxim Fomin to travel to Delhi in November 2024 for a series of meetings with our Indian partner, Associate Professor Jyoti. While in Delhi, Professor Fomin will also be able to deliver a series of public lectures/seminars on his research into the encounters with India on the part of 19th century northern Irish-origin British administrators. Given the strong theme of artistic and aesthetic exchange in these intercultural encounters, Professor Fomin’s visit to India will be badged as an international activity associated with the Belfast School of Art’s 175th anniversary.
In addition to a speaking event at JNU, one of India’s pre-eminent research institutions, travel grant funding will also enable Professor Fomim to deliver a public seminar at the British Council’s New Delhi office, if this aligns with British Council timetabling. The event would also support the international BSoA anniversary celebrations in 2024 and reach.
