Research into a Digital strategy for the culture, arts and heritage sectors

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The 2021 report of the Culture, Arts and Heritage (CAH) Recovery Taskforce included a recommendation that “a long-term digital strategy should be developed for the region which recognises the complex ecology of the creative spaces and supports the growth of the industry over the next ten years. Opportunities for creative research, development and innovation that supports artists and arts and heritage professionals, increasing interdisciplinary research, access to facilities and collaboration across the digital and creative industries will also need to be key aspects of the strategyâ€. A reconvened CAH Strategy Taskforce is currently supporting the Department in developing a CAH strategy for the region. Focus group discussions as part of this process have reinforced the need for longer term development and provision of digital support. It is expected that a digital support strand will be an important element within the strategy’s inaugural action plan. A research project interrogating the present digital policy landscape and collaborative opportunities will inform development and delivery of the digital strand within the CAH strategy action plan. The research project will be led by Future Screens NI. It complements and adds to the core research and development work undertaken by this expert cluster.
