Driving Innovation in Targeted Photodynamic Cancer Therapy Through Sustainable International Research Partnerships

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

This study will establish a sustained research partnership between Ulster University (UK) and the Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Azhar University (Egypt), and other potential institutions in Middle eastern countries (including Jordan, UAE and KSA) to collaboratively explore peptide-based targeted therapies, including non-invasive techniques such as photodynamic therapy (PDT), with the ultimate goal of improving clinical outcomes. The networking initiative strongly aligns with three ISPF strategic themes: 1. Healthy People – delivering research supporting better cancer treatments and reduced toxicity. 2. Transformative Technologies – advancing targeted peptide systems and light-activated therapeutic technologies. 3. Tomorrow’s Talent – developing research capability, exchange pathways and joint supervision opportunities between UK and Egyptian partners.
