Project Details
Description
This project is trialing a novel method to survey American mink (an invasive species) and Otter (a protected species) along the Crumlin River. The project is being funded by the Belfast Hills Partnership and will run in conjunction with the Belfast Hills Partnership and the Crumlin and District Angling Association. Camera Rafts will be deployed along the River Crumlin at 21 pre-selected points. Cameras will be left in situ for a period of 2 weeks at each point. The aim of this research is to further develop a methodology that local angling groups could use to survey rivers and manage them more effectively.
