Description
This Agreement relates to the contracting of the ICLRD by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Northern Ireland Branch to support them in the research project, focusing on “A Review of the Island’s Strategic Spatial Planning Strategies and the Framework for Co-operation”, as part of the Central Research Strategy aim to investigate cross-border planning issues, and as a result of the RTPI Northern Ireland Policy and Research Forum members’ desire to use research funds to investigate cross-border strategic planning during the 2025-2026 Forum term (the Agreement for Provision of Services between the RTPI and ICLRD (‘the Principal Contract’) is attached as Schedule 3). The Principal Contract, totalling Stg£11,000 (excl, VAT), will (1) assess the degree of alignment and divergence between the current spatial strategies of the island of Ireland (the RDS 2035 and the newly revised NPF) and (2) critically examine the impact the Framework for Co-operation has had on strategic spatial planning, policy co-ordination and cross-border working on the island of Ireland. This contract covers an nine month period until 28th February 2026.
