Project Details
Description
By introducing scalable and context-specific innovations in orthopaedic care, such as additive-manufactured implants, bioactive polymeric composites, and scaffold-based regenerative approaches, the project demonstrates how technology can improve patient outcomes and support efficient healthcare delivery in ODA countries. These technologies will be tested through pilot studies during the collaborative workshops, providing proof-of-concept results that can inform larger-scale research initiatives. The proposed workshops in Pakistan are central to the project and aim to achieve several key outcomes:
• Establish direct communication channels between researchers and clinicians to discuss real-world clinical challenges and research priorities.
• Align research objectives with clinical needs, ensuring innovations are practical and relevant.
• Facilitate knowledge exchange, integrating theoretical research with practical clinical expertise.
• Identify potential collaborative projects for joint pursuit, leveraging combined expertise for future ISPF or international funding applications.
• Generate tangible actions, including jointly designed pilot studies, protocols, and follow-up research initiatives.
