Yasir Ijaz’s research work with Ulster University Research & Innovation and Seagate Technology primarily revolves around pioneering research and the development of cutting-edge image analytic solutions tailored to tackle material handling challenges in industrial environments. He is meticulously evaluating object detection methods to ascertain the precise physical state of equipment load locks, ensuring the safety and reliability of loading operations. This innovative approach aims to replace traditional physical and electronic tool interlocks with a sophisticated software-defined interlock system.
Yasir thrives in an environment that fosters innovation, where he can engage in applied research, devise intelligent solutions, and collaborate closely through his dynamic Ulster University PHD research and Smart Nano NI team. Smart Nano NI’s continues to develop and grow talent across the photonics sector.
