Biography

Dr. Usman Hadi is currently working as an Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in the School of Engineering at Ulster University, Jordanstown campus. Prior to that, he worked as a Post-Doctoral researcher at Aalborg University & Ext Research Engineer at Nokia Standards (Nokia Bell Labs) in Aalborg Denmark (2019-2021). He received his Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from the Department of Electronic Engineering University of Bologna, Italy in 2019.  At the same time, he was a Visiting Researcher (2017–2019) at Université Paris-Est, ESYCOM, ESIEE Paris, Noisy-le-Grand, France and Nokia Bell Labs, NJ, USA. His research interests are in the area of wireless communication for 5G and Beyond 5G particularly Time Sensitive Networks, microwave photonics, machine learning including RoF systems, devices for telecommunications, and wireless sensor networks. He was among the top 2% of cited researchers for three consecutive years (2023, 2022, 2021).
