Biography
Ursula is an accomplished Senior Lecturer, Senior Fellow of Advance HE, and Registered Nurse with extensive leadership experience across the School of Nursing and Paramedic Science. She is currently Programme Director for the innovative interprofessional Postgraduate Certificate in Education for Healthcare Professionals and has previously led a PSRB (NMC) Adult Nursing programme.
Alongside this, Ursula serves as Faculty Partnership Manager for collaborative provision within the Faculty of Life and Health Sciences. Her remit includes supporting and overseeing quality assurance across validated, franchised, and out‑centre provision at Certificate in Higher Education, Foundation Degree, BSc, and MSc levels. This portfolio spans regional, UK‑wide, and international partners across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Her work encompasses new programme development, curriculum design, governance, quality assurance, and enhancement of the student experience through close monitoring of key metrics.
From 2015–2022, Ursula held the role of Academic Lead for Education, providing strategic leadership in learning and teaching, driving educational innovation, and supporting colleagues across a dynamic School. She chaired the School Learning and Teaching Committee, advised on policy, and oversaw the implementation of recommendations. She played a central role in curriculum development across undergraduate and postgraduate provision, guiding teams through revalidations and course amendments.
Ursula has experience of chairing preliminary boards of examiners across the School and collaborative provision and contributes to sector‑wide quality assurance as an NMC registrant visitor.
Research Interests
Patient safety. Student feedback. Student experience. Nursing education. Evaluating staff and student’s perceptions of e-submission and feedback, twitter, and post graduate student engagement. Cardiac Nursing, Chronic illness.
