Biography

Thomas Murphy holds a degree in law from the Queen’s University of Belfast (1995) and a doctorate from Ulster University (2002). He is a former Head of the School of Law at Ulster (2008-2012), where he has lectured since 1999. In his teaching and research, Thomas specialises in land, property and housing law and his most recent research relates to the law of compulsory purchase in Northern Ireland. A former member of the University Senate (2010-2013), Thomas is a member of the Validation Committee of the Council of Legal Education (Northern Ireland).
