Biography
I am a fashion industry researcher from India. A postgraduate with a Distinction in Fashion Marketing and Branding from the University of Southampton, UK and the Most Innovative Graduation Project Award-winning Fashion Technology graduate from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, India. I have worked in the various domains of the fashion and textile industry may it be sourcing, buying, manufacturing, product development, sales and marketing, gaining almost 10 years of strong pragmatic academic and industrial experience. With approx. 2 dozen internship/ work experiences directly working with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
I have been employed as the COO for an Indian ethical fashion startup and then as the COO for the Indian subsidiary of a 7 million GBP turnover British textile and merchandise trading company. Additionally, I have taken up contract-based roles for the latest 3D fashion tech. companies like "CLO 3D Virtual Fashion”. Alongside my full-time jobs, I was engaged in part-time remote roles for a couple of American and Canadian sustainable fashion startups, streamlining branding and the supply chain.
During my academic years I have led a fashion show in the Winchester Fashion Week; interned with a university faculty led sustainable British women’s wear brand; and with the producers of H&M and MANGO in Bangladesh; also with the largest worsted textile producing unit of Raymond in India. I was recently engaged with growing my startup; Alongside I had been consulting for two global market research firms in terms of 3D fashion design software evaluation. I have also presented/ published two research papers at the ITAA conference.
