Stephen Billington is a Teaching Fellow in Economics at Ulster University. He obtained his BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees in Economics from Queen's University Belfast.
Stephen's research focuses on understanding how effective patent systems are at encouraging innovation, by looking at the role patents played during Britain's Industrial Revolution. His research interests are in economic history, the economics of innovation, machine learning, the economics of war, and industrial organisation.
