Dr. Sam McGuinness a former Head of the School of Education at Ulster University, has been a teacher of chemistry for over several decades and principal of two post-primary schools in Northern Ireland, Cookstown High and Limavady Grammar.While his original research field was organometallic chemistry, and his DPhil is in that field, his MBA and his current research interests are in the field of international educational leadership and policy, in which he has had several publications.Sam is a member of BELMAS, BERA and AERA, and has delivered papers at several international conferences. He has presented to the Education Committee at the NI parliament, and to the Minister for Employment and Learning.  He is currently in negotiation with the Education Authority regarding the delivery of CPD in accredited leadership courses to schools and colleges throughout NI.Since 2009, Sam has lectured in Educational Leadership and Management as part of the MEd degree course in the Monaghan and Athlone education centres.  In 2010 he introduced the course to Northern Ireland, teaching along with colleagues in Coleraine and Jordanstown.Over the past five years he has designed and currently delivers two other postgraduate leadership programmes, one a Certificate in Middle Leadership, the other a Diploma in Headship and the first graduates emerged this year.
