Biography
Sammy Taggart is a Teacher Educator in Technology and Design Education at the School of Education. With a background as a teacher, school leader, and lecturer, Sammy has a broad and deep understanding of Northern Ireland's educational system.
His work primarily involves leveraging educational technologies to enhance learning experiences in schools. He collaboratively works with examination authorities, STEM-focused charitable groups, and local organisations, promoting the importance of education, design, and engineering.
Sammy has an interest in educational technologies. He has contributed to various aspects of educational technology use in schools, including teaching and learning practices, teacher professional learning, digital safeguarding measures, research, and policy development. His work aims to create blended and balanced digital environments that stimulate creativity and critical thinking among students.
In his role, Sammy shares his insights and research findings to stimulate and contribute to discussions about the integration of technology in education. His efforts are focused on improving education and equipping students for a technologically advanced and ever-advancing world.
