Biography

Robin Gregg joined the School of Sport in 2013 as a Lecturer in sports development and coaching. Robin's research and teaching interests are in the areas elite sports development and coaching.Robin is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.Robin studied sports science at Crewe & Alsagher College. He graduated in 1995, initially working in the outdoor industry before embarking on a career in sports development and coaching. Over a period of 15 years Robin gained experience working at local, regional and national level. Industry roles included: Sports Development Officer, Coaching Development Officer, Talent Identification and Development Consultant and most recently Performance Systems Manager with Sport Northern Ireland. Through these roles Robin has devised policy, implemented programmes and managed investment designed to create systems and structures to develop performance sport and coaching. In 2011 Robin was awarded a Masters in Sports Development and Coaching with Distinction from Ulster University, this provided the motivation to work in higher education and engage in PHD study.Robin is a member of the UK Coaching Standards Group.
