PhD Researcher Profile

A marine ecologist by background, currently working in supporting scientific efforts to standardize & enhance remote sensing methods for the acquisition, processing and validation of Multibeam Echosounder backscatter data for monitoring benthic habitats (e.g biogenic cold watre reefs) over a range of spatial scales. These tools provide valuable and reliable scientific information to support evidence-based management of marine protected areas and their associated biodiversity values. I also have worked previously in promoting participatory approaches, tools and creation of strategic partnerships in support of sustainable natural resources management, environmental policy and marine conservation.
