Biography

Robert Porter is cultural and political theorist and the author of a number of books These include: The University in Crumbs (Rowman and Littlefield, 2023) Co-authored with K.A Porter and I. Mackenzie. Meanderings Through the Politics of Everyday Life (Rowman and Littlefield, 2018). The Edinburgh Companion to Poststructuralism (EUP, 2013) co-edited with B. Dillet and I. Mackenzie Dramatizing the Political (Palgrave, 2011) co-authored with I. Mackenzie Deleuze and Guattari: Aesthetics and Politics (University of Wales Press, 2009) Ideology: Contemporary Social, Political and Cultural Theory (University of Wales Press, 2009). 

Robert is currently working on a couple of funded projects. The first, working with Dr Jim Donaghey, is an AHRC project entitled: ‘Failed States and Creative Resistances: The Everyday Life of Punks in Belfast, Banda Aceh'. The second, working with Dr Dipali Mathur, is a British Academy project entitled: ‘Rematerializing the Digital: Governmentality and the Environmental Consequences of Life Online’.
