Owais Hakeem joined the School of Computing at Ulster University in 2024 as a PhD researcher and pursuing his PhD via Department for the Economy Studentship (International).
He has eight years of experience spanning teaching, research, and the software industry. Before moving to the Ulster University, he was a Senior Lecturer at University of central Punjab, Pakistan. During his stay as a at UCP, he worked on different funded research projects in the domain of Distributed systems and Data science. He also served as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, School of Systems and Technology, at the University of Management and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan.
Owais holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, completed in 2017, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Peshawar, obtained in 2012. He has published numerous research articles in prestigious international conferences and journals. His primary research interests include Digital twins, Intelligent Autonomous Vehicles, Edge Computing, the Internet of Things, and wireless-based cyber-physical systems.
