Research topic: Naturally-occuring microbial biosynthetic pathways for propane
Research interests: Bioprospecting natural products, biotechnology, microbiomes and to facilitate the translation of research from the lab to commercial applications.
About: Graduated from an MSc in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology at Queen's University Belfast in 2018. For my research project, I worked under the supervision of Dr Sharon Huws (https://www.thehuwslab.com) on the effect of hydroperoxyoctadecatrienoic acid on the rumen microbiome. I started a PhD (CAST) in September 2020 (Microbial Biotechnology).
