Biography

Dr Nader Shehata is a lecturer of Electronic Engineering at Ulster University and an associate professor at Department of Engineering Mathematics and Physics Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, Egypt, along with being the associate director of Centre of Smart Materials, Nanotechnology, and Photonics (CSMNP). Also, he is an adjunct associate professor at Faculty of Science, Utah State University, United States. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Virginis Tech, United States, in 2012. Over more than ten years, Dr Shehata has worked in the fields of nanostructures synthesis, characterization, and correlated applications in environmental sensing, piezoelectric energy harvesting, solar cells, and biomedicine. He secured more than 1.2M pounds sterling of research grants from different local and international funding agencies, such as the British Council, FCDO-UK Government, KFAS Kuwait, STDF Egypt, and QNRF Qatar. In addition, he co-authored more than 60 journal publications with most of them published in Q1/Q2 journals and more than 20 international conference appearances including invited talks, oral presentations, poster sessions, and proceedings. Furthermore, he is an editor-in-chief and topical guest editor in different nanotechnology journals with two edited books, few edited book chapters, a reviewer for different funding agencies and prestigious journals, along with being a senior member in IEEE. Moreover, he has a wide industrial experience as a consultant and collaborator to different local and international companies in the track of sensors, nanocomposites fabrication mechanisms, and energy harvesting prototypes.
