Biography

Mark is the Course Director for the BSc (Hons) Construction Engineering and Management programme and is a Lecturer in Building Performance and Regulation within Ulster University's School of the Built Environment (2008 - Present).  Mark has worked in the field of Construction, Building Regulation and Architecture for over 30 years.  Marks previous career includes Architect in a private practice (1990-1996), Local Authority Building Control Surveyor (1996-2000), Head of Building Control (2000-2008) and Ulster University (2008-present).  Mark has a Masters in Education (UU - 2015) and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Mark has been commended by PSRB's, internal and external auditors for the quality of the Construction provision at validation, re-validation and PSRB accreditiation, the programme being recognised for its outstanding contribution to industry in 2018.
