Personal profile


Dr Magda Bucholc is a Lecturer in Data Analytics at the Intelligent Systems Research Centre at Ulster University. She works on the development and implementation of statistical frameworks and computational methodologies in clinical decision making, in particular, to improve current disease risk prediction models, enable earlier diagnosis, optimize allocation of health care resources, and deliver more tailored treatments to patients.

In 2019, Magda received the Ulster University Early Career Research Faculty Award and Ulster University Research Excellence Award in Business Category with Nightingale Analytics Ltd. She is a member of several professional societies, including Alzheimer's Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer's Research and Treatment, Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK), and IEEE. She is also a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and serves as a Royal Statistical Society NI Committee Member. Her research has been supported by funding from various sources including ARUK, Global Challenge Research Fund, Ulster University Research Challenge Fund, and The Atlantic Philanthropies.
