Biography
Janet Coulter has 30 years of experience working in Fashion and Textiles industry. She has industrial experience, working in the Fashion Industry in Paris, London and Northern Ireland before entering academia.

Her current PhD research is in the field of e-fashion, investigating the potential of e-clothing to act as a barometer to manage stress and wellbeing in female students. Janet has been a lecturer at Ulster University since 1999 and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in Fashion in the Belfast School of Art in 2009. She has previously served as Course Director and Placement coordinator on BDes. Textile and Fashion Design Degree Course.

- Wearable Textile Technologies for fashion to support emotive health
- Multidisciplinary co-design across design and science. In 2017 she was awarded a Rolls Royce Science Prize 2017 for interdisciplinary research project in e-textiles.
- Virtual/3D and future Pattern engineering technologies
- Multidisciplinary and co-Design approaches to Design and Science
- e-Textiles to address gender imbalance in STEM
