Biography

Dr Jack B. Joyce is the Research Associate for the NIHR-funded Real Complaints project. Dr Joyce works directly with participants and oversees the collection and management of data for Real Complaints. He also supports the ongoing qualitative analysis of the data and has presented with colleagues at Ulster and the University of Stirling on the use of Hypothetical Reported Thought. Dr Joyce's background cuts across Linguistics, Sociology and Social Psychology with a singular focus on language-in-use. He has recently published on disputes in public spaces, is working on how qualitative researchers can incorporate the Open Science agenda into their practice, and is currently a co-editor of a special issue on Resistance in the Journal of Social Psychology and Language.
