Biography

Gillian graduated with a first-class BSc Hons degree in Computing from Glasgow Caledonian University, in 2016, and MSc in Business Development and Innovation in 2018. Gillian then completed a two-year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Inspire and Ulster University in 2018 which was graded Outstanding. In 2020, this KTP won the KTP National Award for the KTP with the Best Societal Impact.

Gillian is focused on using technology for mental health, and applying research to industry, by creating bespoke wellbeing platforms for populations including employees, students, emergency services and elite sports. Skilled in web development, data analytics and research, this has led her to study for an Industrial PhD in Computing with Ulster University, supported by the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851.

Gillian is committed to continued professional development, gaining an ILM Level 3 qualification in Leadership and Management, and has recently passed a Department for Education funded short programme with Ulster University, designed to provide women with the necessary skills, attributes and mentorship to enter and excel in leadership roles.
