Biography
Gianluca is a first-year PhD Reasercher in Linguistics, supervised by Prof. Raffaella Folli and Dr. Christina Sevdali. He works on Adverbial Subordination in Italian. He is interested in Syntax, Historical Syntax, and Semantics.
He is the chair of the LAGB SC, and an Associate Network Member of the project Adverbial clauses and subordinate dependency relationships, based in the University of Cologne.
Gianluca holds a BA from Università degli Studi di Milano (110 cum laude/110) with a final disseration on Latin. He then obtained a MA in Linguistics at the Università degli Studi di Torino (110 cum laude/110). For his thesis, he worked under the supervision of Prof. Mario Squartini (Torino) and Prof. Ian Robert (Downing College-Cambridge). His thesis focused on subordination and its connection with illocutionary force. During his MA, he spent six months at UCL - Department of Greek and Latin thanks to an Erasmus+ scholarship.
