Biography
Deborah has academic expertise in work-based learning, employability and professional development. She is Course Director of the University’s Graduate Leadership Programme. This is an innovative programme which supports graduates into employment, combining a six month internship with a postgraduate qualification. She is also Programme Director of the University’s postgraduate short courses framework which facilitates study across the entire University portfolio. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an alumni of the Advance HE Aurora programme for female leaders. She acts as a mentor on Ulster University’s Professional Development scheme and supports members of staff seeking HEA fellowship accreditation. Deborah has a background in widening access and community learning having delivered a range of courses in community and voluntary settings. In an external capacity, she is a Trustee of the CENI (Community Evaluation NI) Board and an Education Authority governor representative on two school Boards of Governors.
