Biography

Clement Momoh Owoicho graduated from Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Nigeria with  a BSc Hons (Second Class Upper) Food Science and Technology, followed by a Masters degree in Food and Nutritional Science. At the moment, a PhD student in NICHE, Biomedical Science, at Ulster University in the United Kingdom. 

His principal research interest lie in the nature of food and food products, their modification or processing to improve nutritional properties, the interaction of the nutrients with the human body and optimising these interactions to improve health.

In 2014, Momoh Clement led a team of experts to Stine Industry Nigeria (Now Anambra Rice Industry, Nigeria) for the production of novel rice noodle, a food product that has passed regulatory standard certification and gained patent right. With over ten(10) years industrial experience in Food Quality Control/Assurance and Food product processing, Momoh Clement led a group of expert to Squeez Factory design and chamberlyn International Abuja, Nigeria. These factories commercially produce for sale drink type yoghurt, treated and bottled water and filterated, fermented, hygroscopic starchy Manihot esculentum grits (Garri) respectively.

At the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture(IITA), during the Nigerian National Food Consumption and Micronutrient Survey, Clement Momoh exercised proficiency in the use of INNDEX 24 android computer software, COMMCARE and FRIL developed by IITA for i24 recall. 

Clement Momoh is a recipient of the UK Department for the Economy (DfE) International Scholarship, an Alumnus of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization International Center for Biotechnology(UNESCO-ICB) grant, A member of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (MNIFST) and a Fellow of the Medical Research Council (FMRC) of the US Global Open Research Journal.
