I am a PhD researcher at the Institute of Nursing and Health Research (INHR), Ulster University. I am currently working on exploring the impact of different healthcare pathways on outcomes in individuals who have undergone knee replacement. I will also be exploring their journey after surgery using a qualitative research approach. In my previous research, I have examined beliefs and behaviours related to back pain, engagement in community-based physical activity, and the lived experiences of individuals with knee osteoarthritis. I have worked as a lecturer and specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist, with extensive experience in teaching, clinical practice, and mentoring future healthcare professionals. Outside of my professional commitments, I enjoy reading and writing blog posts.

My teaching interests span musculoskeletal physiotherapy, manual therapy, physiology, exercise science, and evidence-based practice. I am particularly interested in teaching clinical reasoning and patient-centered approaches through active and experiential learning. I also focus on promoting interprofessional collaboration and teamwork in healthcare education and has taught modules related to Interprofessional Education. Additionally, I love to teach research methods and translation of evidence to practice. I promote integrating research-informed teaching to enhance students’ analytical and critical thinking skills. I value innovative pedagogies such as case-based, simulation-based, and problem-based learning to effectively bridge the gap between theory and clinical practice. 

My research interests focus on musculoskeletal physiotherapy, patient beliefs, and outcome measurement in rehabilitation. I am particularly interested in exploring healthcare pathways, interprofessional collaboration, and how variations in service delivery impact recovery and patient-reported outcomes following total knee arthroplasty. My work also examines pain beliefs, clinical reasoning, and evidence translation in physiotherapy practice. Additionaly I have publsihed studies on physical activity, geriatric rehabilitation, graduate attributes in higher education, knee OA, and back pain.
