Research activity per year
Dr Amanda Platt has worked in higher education for more than twenty years. Amanda is currently a Lecturer in the Centre for Higher Education Research and Practice (CHERP), and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Amanda is Course Director of the PgCert in Higher Education Practice (PgCHEP) and module coordinator on the MEd in Higher Education Practice. She is also a tutor on the First Steps to L&T programme for PhD Researchers, as part of the Doctoral College Researcher Development Programme.
Since 2018, Amanda has led the embedding of Education for Sustainable Development, using the the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development (UNSDGs), as framework, across all curricula at Ulster.
From 2010-2018, Amanda worked as a Research Associate in CHERP, focusing on staff engagement with professional learning, the scholarship of learning and teaching (SoTL), and pedagogic research.
From 2001-2009, Amanda was employed as a GIS Researcher on several research projects, most notably the AHRC funded ‘Irish border/lands: cultural geographies of division, interconnection and diversity’, while working in UU Academy for Irish Cultural Heritages, Magee campus.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
