As a team of academics from the universities of Ulster, Aberystwyth, Glasgow and Goldsmiths, University of London, we will produce the first comprehensive, four-nations study on this topic over the next two years or so. ‘Broadcasting Policy in a Devolved UK’ will provide an evidence base to inform political and civic debate, at the very moment the constitutional settlement that the UK operates under is facing pressure from all sides, and at a time when the media and communications structures which play a key role in the formation of citizenship are creaking.
