DescriptionLeading defective blocks investigator Professor Paul Dunlop has said the revised I.S. 465:2026 standard is “not perfect” but marks a major step forward for affected homeowners.

Prof Dunlop, an affected Inishowen homeowner and a glaciologist and geoscientist at Ulster University, has contributed to research that informed the revised standard published by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) on Monday.

The I.S. 465 standard sets out how homes and other buildings affected by defective concrete blocks are assessed, tested and categorised.
