Dr Karen Kirby, Dr Eileen Doherty and Professor Paul Dunlop met Canadian experts, shared experiences and began to further develop research plans. Amongst a lengthy discussion about the issues experienced in Ireland, the cause of the DC, barriers with the Irish Government DC scheme, the psychological and mental health distress of the Irish experience were expressed. Advice from the Canadian experts were heard, in particular how the government should be proactive in supporting the homeowners who are impacted. Delays prolong the stress.
