Bulgaria appoints new honorary consul in Belfast

Dr. Robert Eadie will represent our country in Northern Ireland and assist the Bulgarian community

The government has decided to appoint Dr. Robert Eadie as Honorary Consul of Bulgaria to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, based in Belfast. The decision officially terminates the functions of Mr. Paul Martin, who held this position from June 2017 until his death in July 2025.

Dr. Robert Eadie is a member of scientific committees at a number of international conferences in Bulgaria and is an honorary member of the Scientific and Technical Union of Construction in Bulgaria, as well as of editorial boards of Bulgarian scientific journals.

His appointment to replace Mr. Martin is expected to ensure continuity in the Bulgarian state's efforts to support both the growing number of our fellow citizens in Northern Ireland, as well as the Bulgarian business community in their contacts with local government and business structures in the region.
