Description

An article by Farming Lifem on the launch of TRACE, a €5.9 million PEACEPLUS-funded, cross-border project led by Ulster University to modernise agri-food supply chains across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. TRACE will apply advanced digital technologies (including sensors, data analytics and secure traceability tools) to products of animal origin in order to improve transparency, reduce waste and increase efficiency, with a strong emphasis on supporting SMEs. Irish government representatives and the Special EU Programmes Body highlight the project’s role in delivering Ireland’s Food Vision 2030 objectives, boosting competitiveness and linking economic development to long-term peace and resilience in the region. The initiative brings together universities, industry bodies and regional development partners to share good practice and create an innovation ecosystem capable of transforming the agri-food sector on an all-island basis.
