Description
This event brought together stakeholders, practitioners, and researchers from the UK, Ireland and beyond to discuss and share knowledge regarding the experiences and outcomes of young adults (aged 18-25) in contact with various aspects of the criminal justice system. The goal was to explore opportunities for harmonisation and collaboration in research, policy and practice relating to what is increasingly seen as a distinct group with distinct needs in the justice system.Though a series of interactive presentations and workshops, the objective was to provide attendees with an opportunity to collectively explore current research on the experiences of justice-involved young adults, share their own experiences, perspectives and practices, and collaborate with other stakeholders with the ultimate aim of considering the prospect of a young adult justice strategy for Northern Ireland.
