This half-day event brought together broadcasters, regulators, elected politicians and representatives from civil society to discuss the future of Public Service Media in Northern Ireland.

Prof Catherine Johnson (University of Leeds) presented latest research insights on ‘Public Service Media in an Age of Platforms’; Siobhan Walsh, Director, Content Policy at Ofcom, outlined the regulator's approach to its current review of PSM; Luke McCullough – Director, BBC Corporate Affairs (Nations) provided a response on behalf of the BBC.

A political panel was comprised of: Matthew O'Toole MLA, of the SDLP, and Leader of the Opposition in the Stormont Assembly; David Honeyford MLA (Alliance Party), Member, Committee for the Economy; Lord Empey Kt OBE (Ulster Unionist Party), Member, House of Lords

This event was funded by Ulster University’s Research Impact Fund, and is supported by the Centre for Communication, Media and Cultural Studies, within the School of Communication and Media.
